CelebrityHauteSpot Interview with one of the Stars of Amazon’s Hit Series ‘BOSCH’

January 30, 2019 Jenna Interviews/Events

We recently had the chance to chat with “NCIS” guest star Tim Lounibos about landing his role on “NCIS”, working on set, upcoming projects, and more!

Check it out below!

What was your reaction when you found out you landed the role on “NCIS?”

Excitement and Relief. Relief because I can count on two hands how many times I read for producers for this show–more than any show I’ve ever auditioned for. Excitement because many of the producers and crew had been involved with JAG, and my very best guest star roles came from that show. I recurred for three episodes (btw, I have absolutely no idea who that actor is whom is pictured by my headshot whenever there’s a story about where past JAG celebrities are today! :P). Also excited because I always like going back to sets that I’ve worked on before for sentimental reasons.

Who do you play?

Detective Paul Atwood

How would you describe the atmosphere of the set?

These guys are consummate professionals and the set is very friendly. I happened to be working during the holidays so got a bonus in being able to attend a special catered lunch they provided for everyone involved in the show along with their families…very nice, very cool, very classy. They decorated an entire sound stage and even Santa showed up! There had to be a few hundred enjoying the festivities.

What is a behind-the-scenes secret you can share with us?

Well, I don’t know if this is a secret or not, but I’ve never experienced it on any other set. There were a number of dogs that were roaming freely around. Wherever you went, there’d be a happy pooch. They’ve actually had to re-shoot scenes because dogs have calmly entered shots. Having a couple dogs of my own, I quite enjoyed it.

How was working on this project different from those that you’ve previously worked on?

Well, the fact that I’d worked with a number of people from JAG made it feel very much like a homecoming. Word got around to others who were asking me questions about the old days, so that was cool. I also liked the fact that the set was very close to my home. Never experienced that before since moving out to Santa Clarita in the early 2000s.

What was your favorite scene to film?

Working with Mark Harmon. I’m weird when it comes to working with celebrities. I’ve never been one to be starstruck, but I definitely get excited about meeting/working with certain people for different reasons: Erin Gray because she was in a show called “Man From Atlantis,” G. Gordon Liddy because he was involved in Watergate, and Mark Harmon because he quarterbacked UCLA…so my favorite scene was the one with Mr. Harmon.

Can you share any information about the episode you appear in?

Producers made it very clear not to share any information about story and plot. so all I can say is that it’s an extremely interesting story with a big surprise that will have NCIS fans on the edge of their seats. I also like the fact that it was written by a woman. That’s happening more and more these days.

When and where can fans watch?

It’s scheduled for February 12.

Are you working on any other projects fans can look forward to?

Yep. I’m recurring as Ed Sung on season five of Amazon’s acclaimed show “Bosch” (which drops sometime this spring) and just came back from Hawaii where I guest starred on “Hawaii Five-0” (Season 9 Ep. 18–which, if no weeks are skipped, should air on March 1. I play a grieving father in what should be a fairly touching change of pace for me). I’m also working with an A-list director on something else which I absolutely cannot talk about because of all the damn NDA’s they made me sign! 😀 2019 has already shaped up to be a very interesting and promising year…
